Parent's Association

Getting Involved in the School

We hope that all parents will work with us to enhance their child's education.  To support this we try to keep all parents informed of the activites and events taking place over the school year, and encourage all parents to be involved in school activities as much as possible.

This page describes how parents can stay up to date and involved in St Philomena's Primary School:

Parents' Association

All parents in the school are members of the Parents' Association. At the beginning of every year there is an Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Parents' Association to select parents to run the Parents' Committee.

The Parents' Committee meet every month to discuss school issues, and organise school events. It is a great way to get involved, meet other parents, and understand all that goes on in the school.

The Parents' Association run an effective Savings Club in the school every Friday morning. They also organise a Book Fair in the school every year.

If any parent is interested in getting involved in the Parents' Committee please contact the school office, or the Home-School links teacher, David Foley.

Home School Links Teacher

Parents are encouraged to maintain strong links with the school and be actively involved in their child’s education. To this end, we have a dedicated Home-School Links teacher, David Foley.

David works with parents in both St Philomena's and St. Peter's schools. He regularly visits parents to assist with any issues which may arise, answer questions and arrange meetings at the school.

For further information or to discuss your concerns please contact David Foley.

School Reports will be posted out at the end of the school year.
